Sooooo…. I have been DYING to make the announcement that we are expecting this October! It’s been a whirlwind after finding out in February that we were pregnant, but something that has us feeling truly blessed. It’s not the timing we were planning, but God has a greater plan for us and I have no doubt he will continue to bless our growing family this year. Currently I am 14 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty good. I went through a stint of nausea between weeks 6 and 9, but thankfully that subsided before our big move and the wedding. It’s been an interesting adventure so far…. One that I cannot wait to document as we get closer to the arrival of our little baby Sowyrda!

Here’s some little fun facts for your reading pleasure!

Week of Pregnancy: 14 weeks and 3 days

Baby Size: A lemon! Our little one is as big as a lemon!

This week: Our baby can make well defined facial expressions like a squint or a frown! He or she is moving around like crazy even though I can’t feel the movements yet. Our little one can rub it’s eyes, yawn, and even blink. And he or she can now hear sounds!

Current Cravings: Grapes, blueberries, Orange/Pineapple juice, and peanut butter. I’ve been trying to drink tons of water, which I have started infusing with fruit thanks to one of my wedding presents. Secret indulgence… Sour Patch Kids. I haven’t had them in soooooo long and since being pregnant, it’s my go-to candy craving.

Food Aversions: Green veggies. I know…. Horrible. I’ve resorted to juicing to get my vegetable intake for now.

Sleep Schedule: Now that I am in my second trimester, I have regained a lot of my energy back that was seriously lost during my first trimester. No need for naps now, which has been nice since I’ve been so busy. Only thing now is waking up several times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Guess it’s all that water I chug at dinner!

Workouts: The past 3 months I have literally not done a single thing other than a pilates class here and there. But since we got back from our honeymoon I have been taking the dogs for a walk every day and am in search of a good prenatal yoga and pilates class. We have a pool right around the corner from our house that I plan on making a few laps in the mornings when I don’t walk the doggies. Outside of that, walking up and down our stairs a million times a day is my butt and thigh workout. It will have to do for now.

Belly & Clothes: So far I can still wear all of my old clothes, but my belly is starting to show a little bit. Especially when I wear tighter fitting shirts. With the heat of the summer rising, this lady will be wearing LOTS of maxi dresses! Cute & comfortable!

Every day I get more and more excited about the things happening in our lives. I married the man of my dreams and love of my life, moved to a beautiful new house we can grow our family in, and a little baby on the way to look forward to. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways and I am forever grateful. Next doctor appointment is May 8th! I cannot wait to see how much our little one has grown!

Thank you soooooo much Kelley and Buster for letting me come into your home and snap some photos of your little man! It was the perfect way to spend a stormy day and I am so thrilled to of met Pip finally! I cannot wait for his next few sessions to watch him grow into a little boy! It will be such an honor to capture those milestone moments for you and your adorable family!

5 People/Groups who Mean the World to Me:

1. My parents – Obviously I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for them, but they have always been there to support me and love me no matter what. They have instilled their Christian values in me and have shown me what a truly awesome marriage is like when God is involved. I have learned so much from them both and the older I get the more I can tell which attributes I get from whom. They are by far the best parents anyone could ask for.

2. My brother and sister-in-law – I just love them both to death and know I can always go to them if I needed anything. A good laugh, couch date with a movie where my brother usually falls asleep within the first 5 minutes, or a fun-filled paddle boarding session in Austin…. I always have a good time with them and am so happy to have such an amazing brother and sister-in-law to call family.

3. My best friend, my knight in shining armor, my rock….. My BC! I can think of a ton more descriptive names that represent JB to me, but then this blog post would be rather lengthy. My future hubby. He is the person who knows me better than anyone else on Earth. He sees me on my best days and he sees me on my worst. I can’t imagine spending my life with anyone else and am so thankful that God had our paths cross almost 4 years ago. We have managed to grow stronger together through all of life’s curve balls. My love for him runs deeper than I could ever imagine and I know as long as he is by my side, I can conquer the world.

4. My grandparents – I have the most amazing grandparents! I love them all so very much and am so grateful for all they have done for me and my family growing up. They have always been there for our sports games, drill  team shows, and birthday parties. I feel so very blessed to have them in my life still and love them so very much!

5. All of my ladies – You know who you are! I cannot express how blessed I am to have the group of girlfriends I have…. No matter where life takes us, we always make time for each other and pick right back up where we left off. Each and every one of you have such a special place in my heart… I can’t imagine going through life without you all in it. I know in 30 years, we will still meet up for our margarita night and gab about husbands, kids, and life in general. You are all truly beautiful and I love that I can call you my friend.

I could’t believe the progress he has already made! I watched wide eyed at him trying to hold his head up and trying to scoot himself across the floor. Yes! At only a week old! We joked about him walking at 3 months at the rate he’s going! I wouldn’t be surprised!

I had such a blast hanging out with this adorable family and cannot wait to see little Aiden grow into a handsome little boy. Thank you so much, Roger and Jenn, for letting come into your home and spend some time with you and your adorable family. Congrats again!!
